Area players perform well

RACQUETBALL
ORLANDO -- Several area racquetball players competed recently at the Florida State Doubles Racquetball Tournament at the Orlando Fitness and Racquetball Club.
Bradenton’s Alan Engel and partner Tim Nausen of Green Acres won the men’s open division; and Charlie Nichols and John Schneider, both from Bradenton, won the men’s 35 division.
Debbie Bjorklund and Judy Arnold, both from Sarasota, won the women’s A division; and Sarasota’s Kathie Trotter and Tampa’s Todd Nguyen won the mixed A division.
Sarasota’s Steve Roche and Venice’s Joe Gonzalez finished third in the men’s 55 division; and Brad Slocum of Sarasota and Ileana Villareal of Hialeah finished second in the mixed open division.
